I am double board certified in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry and work with patients from early childhood through adulthood primarily in the New England area as well as internationally. My practice is small and patient-focused with a tailored approach to meet every patient's unique needs. My approach to treatment is to provide a safe, comforting environment where patients feel able to express themselves emotionally without fear of judgment. I pride myself on being empathic, warm, and caring with an ability to personally connect with each of my patients and their families. I genuinely love what I do and I believe this reflects in the results I help my patients achieve.
My practice is small and I operate alone without an office staff, so a benefit in working with me is that patients have full and direct access to me and only me, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Medication refills are almost always filled within the same 24 hour period including on weekends. I am also often able to accommodate same day appointments, weekend appointments, and am available on holidays as well on an as needed basis. I rarely ever take any time off and even then my patients still have full access to me.
I received my M.D. at Michigan State University where I earned honors in Psychiatry. My general psychiatry training was completed at the University of Massachusetts where I served as the Chief Resident in psychopharmacology as well as the Chief Resident for the psychiatric consultation-liaison service. My child and adolescent psychiatry training was completed at Brown University with a subspecialty focus in treating children and adolescents with autism and intellectual disabilities, as well as expertise in treating general psychiatric disorders including anxiety, OCD, ADHD, depression, and mood disorders.
While my particular areas of clinical interest include treating anxiety, OCD, and depressive disorders in children and young adults, I also enjoy women's mental health and treating a wide variety of general psychiatric issues. I believe treatment works best with a combination of medication management & psychotherapy, which is why I offer both services in my practice.
